August Silk Viscose-Silk Mock Turtleneck (For Women)

This mock turtleneck is sensational. I have 10 of them! Extremely easy to care for, non-bulky when layering, colorfast...just a superb product.

Since I prefer a looser fit, I just ordered a size larger. I wish I had bought it in every color!

The color is very nice, but the sweater feels very light & not so well made. It is cut very small through the body, but the sleeve length and shoulders are fine.

I already bought two turtlenecks and was looking forward to a similar product with a lower mock-turtle. Wrong. The neck is more of an open crew-neck with little shape due to the silky-material. Still, it would be a nice long-sleeve top, except for the short body-length. The sleeves are full-length and very comfortable, a nice balance between cling and drape (nicer than the "soft-hand" version which is too snug) But the body barely comes past my middle, and I am petite/slim . Yes, waist-length, not high-hip length. This would look very chic on a young lady who wants to show off a slim waist with a crop-top. Be aware, though, the pale cloud-color was sheer enough to show undergarments clearly.

Amazing the warmth this thin layer adds under a cotton blouse. People don't know you have an extra layer on and clothes fit normally due to how thin it is. Be gentle with the fabric as it snags or pulls easily. I usually wear a medium top and this medium fit just right.

Nice top, material very good, fit good, price good. Feels and looks nice in this blustery weather.

I almost returned this because though it fit, it is a very slim fitting top that I would never wear unless as an underlayer, and I thought the mock turtleneck was kind of tight. The color blue is fabulous. I had nothing to wear this morning, and threw it on. It was fabulously comfortable and the neck was not uncomfortable at all even though it is snug fitting. It's probably one of the most comfortable tops I have ever worn. I could barely tell it was on! Also the mock tneck offers just a little bit of style as compared to many plain tnecks.

I tried one August Silk turtleneck shirt, and subsequently bought 4 more, plus this mock turtleneck. Lately, I've worn one every day to work. The colors are fantastic, they wash well on gentle cycle, and they can be dried on a hanger. Sleeves seem short to me only because I have truly simian proportions--normal people should find them long enough.

Great layering piece. Soft, warm, washable. The tags are sewn in with an extra layer of stitching so they are easy to remove (you'll want to do this, they're itchy). I got two - one brown and one black. The brown had a little run in the neck that I can fix, the black is fine. This is not a long-underwear type mock turtle, it's a thicker knit than those, so can be worn alone, but layers well with a warm sweater for cold days or dresses up with a scarf.
