The DEEPLY rich brown suede is very intrigueing. The side gore is tastefully placed near ankle and is not obrtrusive visually, and that, along with the well-crafted interior features, provide an active, very comfortable fit. I take an 8-1/2 USA (euro size 42).
If a more traditional suede finish is preferred over the lightly burnished suede nap, the suede can be brought back to a traditional appearance with just a suede brush and a few minutes brushwork to the nap.
This is a niquely designed shoe for the man seeking a rich, smart-look suede chukka, without any sacrifice to comfort, but with a dash of european style.

I was surprised to find that these have an expandable gore on the inside of the ankle -- tacky. I rarely return things, though, and these look OK other than that (and at least this gore is somewhat hidden because of its location), are reasonably comfortable but are too narrow in the toe, and there is really no reason for a chukka not to have a nice comfortable toebox. The chocolate color is fine and the simulated wear is not too badly executed but I would have preferred to break them in myself. Not worth the price really, but not a bad shoe where a lot of comfort is not required, if one can get over the appearance of the gore. I'd recommend it to a friend at a lower price if they could accept the gore and the fit.
