Over the years I have purchased a total of six or seven of these single pelts. They are nearly indestructible. Visitors to our home are always drawn to the warmth, texture and luxury of this product. So much so that I have begun giving them as gifts. Two of the recipients use them in their beds to keep their feet warm. Older folks who have lost a loved one and needed the comfort of a stuffed animal without the potential embarrassment have appreciated the fur. Nieces and nephews have benefited from the fur during long illnesses. As a gift, it seems to transcend gender and age. The texture is sumptious. The warmth is incomparable. The weight is perfect, not bulky or heavy. I have also laundered them by hand. I have not submerged them in water, but have spray misted and towel dried the fur methodically. The fur gets very kinky. Even after drying - with thorough brushing and picking, the fur never really resumes it's fine, even, fluffy texture. I would recommend cleaning only after you have an unconditional attachment that allows you to love your pelt more for it's function than for it's beauty.

This is the 8th or 9th sheepskin I've purchased. Some have been new baby gifts(great for changing tables),several have been for pets(great for bedtime or the car and for comforting my cat during overnight hospital stays or chemotherapy appointments). I also use them on the hard backs of antique wooden rockers and my porch swing. My husband loves one for lounging on the floor while reading or watching the tube.

I have wanted a sheepskin pelt for a long time but usually couldn't afford the prices. This is a very nice, soft, plush pelt for a good price. I actually ordered 2 for myself (one to use on the bed and one for the floor) and my teenage son liked it so much he took one of them for his room!

This sheepskin is not as thick as some others but it is feels great against my body. It is very comfortable. I just love it. Highly recommend, especially for anyone who is bedridden.

I bought this as a gift for a couple who live far away and have a few cats. All I know is that they decided to place it in front of their fireplace, and one of the cats found it and made herself comfortable on it within 5 minutes of its placement. They sent me a picture. My friend said she considered using it on a chair she likes to sit on herself, but she knew she'd probably have a hard time sitting there once the sheepskin was on it; the cats would take over.

I wonder if this would work in "grounding' the body, like walking barefoot in the grass does? See Dr. Mercola ([...]). Anyway, it feels heavenly.

My daughter sleeps with it -- very warm and cozy.

Bought this after reading other reviews for a pet bed. As some others describe, the dogs are thinking this is something to chew, not sleep on! Will keep presenting it to them. If they don't take to it soon I'll either use it as a super rug beside the bed (cold tile floor) or pass to a neighbor to try with her dog. For pets that like it the concept is great. It seems like it would be so comfortable for them, that I am surprised and a little disappointed they are not using it. But it's an extremely nice product.
