Austin Reed Suede Blazer (For Women)

Bought as a Valintine's gift, wife loved it. Only drawback was sleeve length (a little too long) as it was not a petite. Wore it to church and work.

Perhaps the size is mismarked on this item. I got this for a friend who typically wears a size 12 and delights in just this lovely color. When it looked small I tried it on to check it and could barely squeeze my slightly broad size 8 shoulders into it and its lenght was short. however the sleeves were too long, as is often found in a leather coat but really doesn't work with this type of sueded casual blazer style. So, obviously its headed back to the store because it won't fit her! Wrt the styling, that was not as expected either: a bit boxy and cut to an odd length. I was very disappointed in this blazer as it looked like it had a lot of potential for a casual business day or out for a day trip on the weekend with slacks or dress jeans. AR is usually very reliable, but the blazer department seems to be having an off period. This jacket could be readily improved by changes to broaden and lightly pad the shoulders, fixing the drape from the shoulders to straighten /reduce flare from armpit to a longer length to below hip joint, giving trimmer torso appearance while still being adequately capacious. I am so sad this jacket does not work.

This is a butter soft suede, very comfortable. I needed to shorten the sleeves and go up one size to get the correct fit. Really like this jacket.

This is a stunningly well made jacket and the price makes it a bargain you shouldn't pass up. You'd pay this much for a jacket from Walmart. I did return it though as it did not match the outfit I had planned to wear with it. The color is more of a dark mauve.

Gorgeous color! The suede has a light scent to it that I hope will disappear with time. The fit is definitely relaxed. With right accessories, this can be a dressy piece.

A very nice, high-quality jacket that can be dressed up or down, it looks great with a classic pencil skirt for work, a floaty skirt for going out, or even jeans for casual wear. This seems to run big; I had to return the first one I ordered in exchange a smaller size. The overall fit was large, and the sleeves were definitely a bit long. This is a beautiful, versatile piece, and well worth the price.

This jacket is beautiful -- when I received it, even its suede-covered buttons had little cardboard jackets covering them. I wish I could have kept it, but it was just a little too big -- I think it's cut that way, so if you like jackets to fit tighter, order a size smaller. (I couldn't because they don't come in size 2. I would definitely have bought it otherwise!

The size 14 I ordered had sleeves 3 inches too long, and suede is hard to shorten; so I ordered a size 12 but have to return that as well because it is too tight across the chest. I wish I fit regular sizes, but I guess my arms are too short.

This jacket meets my expectation of Austin Reed apparel - high quality material, exceptional tailoring and overall classic good looks.
