However, they do pill going through the wash. I only wear leggings under other pants, so it's not an issue for me. The picture shows a second seam along the waistband which (fortunately) was absent in my pair.

They are thick, with a nice wide waistband, and a polyester knit outer surface that (like other reviewers) I have noticed tends to pill. Nevertheless, they are my warmest leggings, and I intend to order more. I may size up next time, I am 5'6" and 130lb and ordered a medium, they fit ok but I wish they had a higher rise and were longer.

Comfortable to wear alone as tights in my log cabin that I keep temps cooler in the winter (mid to high 60s). Also wear these alone to hike in the forest with my dog in temps down to low 30s. Usually wear insulated bib overalls over these when it's in the teens or 20s. Took off 1-star because they pill terribly. I actually shaved the pills off but they return. I am 5'3"m 110 lb. Originally purchased sm. but they gouged the netherparts; kept them but then purchased 2-pr in medium which I grab first.
