“Two of the meals have expiration date of February 2012, a little more than a year from now... Dehydrated food generally has a shelf life of at least 3 years. Either this is inferior, unstable product, or it's been sitting around for a while... My guess is that some of the bags have been on the shelf for 2+ years, and some of the bags look like they've been around the block! Others seem fresher with expiration dates of 2013... It's still a lot of food, a decent deal if you can get it on sale... I wouldn't buy this as part of a long term storage plan, however...(get freeze-dried instead) I haven't tasted any of them, but have heard that the eggs are inedible, and the rest is just OK. Spring for MountainHouse or AlpineAire if you want the best tasting...”
