Nice looking product, but blade difficult to open and close, very stiff - now I can see why it was on a steep discount.

This is an attractive set that has good, not exceptional craftsmanship. The blade's edge touches up easily. The cork screw is quite short. It opened several bottles of wine just fine although, I can't help but think that eventually you may pull out half a cork. The blades do not lock open but, it takes a firm effort to close them. The larger knife has a substantial feel, the smaller knife makes a fine pocket knife.

Very nice quality. Not quite as refined in the fit and finish as a genuine hand made french knife. Good example of Laguiole style knives but not something a knife collector would want. Needs a good cleaning to remove buffing compound.

I was very suprised at the nice fit and finish. I have French made Laguiole Knives that aren't as nice. These Baladeo won't disappoint anyone except Laguiole collectors that demand perfection made in France. These don't have the refinement of the hand made knives but are still nice.

It is good to find products that are still durable and functional--and beautiful as well. Quality is more important than cost.

These knives feel good in my hands, I guess it should since it is a design that has been around for a long time. I didn't like the protruding brass "nubs" that should have been sanded down, but now they just make for a good hand hold when the knife gets wet cutting fruit. The "his" knife is large, and difficult to close, but I found out that this is part of the design...to make an almost "lock back" knife. The "hers" doesn't have this problem, and it is still secure open. I like the "stamina wood"...it isn't rosewood as advertised. I went to the Baladeo website to see the full description of these knives before I purchased, so I knew what I was getting. I am very happy with the knives, and I'm using them for slicing my fruit, cheeses, and salami. These are my picnic knives. Thank you STP for the great sale.
