Baladeo Laguiole Knife Teflon® Corkscrew - Horn Handle

Stainless steel as advertised but cheaply constructed with rough finishes. Probably functional but not attractive. Horribly overpriced at sale price. I returned item.

We will gift it to friends celebrating their 50th Anniversary. Perfect to put in a suitcase when traveling.

Great Product. The teflon coating makes the screw easier going in, and easier to remove the cork when done.

brings a touch of class to outings

I previously rated this sommelier's tool. I purchased it under the assumption that it was made in France, where real Laguiole is made. Since then I learned it was made [...] I am not sure how Baladeo can use the Laguiole name. Anyway, since I had not used it, I returned it. I don't know about you, but I would rather buy something genuine, especially when I am paying "genuine prices". I've recently noticed that Sierra Trading Post has wisely added the country of origin to the listings for this and other Baladeo products.

I purchased the Baladeo with the olive wood handle. The quality was so bad that I returned it. This one is significantly better. The corkscrew seems sturdier, the knife & lifter have proper drag. Much better. By the way, the "famous fly" is not a fly. It's a bee. Napoleon used the bee as his personal symbol, denoting industriousness. Laguiole designs adopted the Napoleon bee.
