    The compass has an air bubble trapped in it that disrupts the needle from giving accurate reading. This item is junk - do not buy it - even at a sale price.

    This compass is great. The rotating bezel makes for quick easy directions. I do not know hot to use the siting line, magnifying lens, or scale. Although, I did try to burn things with the lens, and it didn't work. So I am pretty sure that's not what it is for. But regardless, it makes a great case! And this compass looks a lit better that cheap plastic see thru ones.

    Bought compass for a weeklong backpack on continental divide trip. Like the compass, but as I'm trying for ultra-light, it's way too heavy for the value it brings. Like the construction, etc., for day use, but wouldn't recommend it for long trips where you're concerned with weight.
