    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    The only disappointment is that, for the price, it should have been softer and less 'itchy'. It's described as being as soft as cashmere, and that might be true IF the cashmere is of inferior grade. I would need to wear a shirt under this--it's too 'itchy' otherwise. It is very warm and lightweight, though.

    Why do S. American alpaca sweaters run so large? I am right between a small and medium and usually can wear both. The alpaca's are never offered in small so I try medium which are almost always TOO large and nine times out of ten I have to return a sweater I really like.

    This sweater is an excellent buy. Baby alpaca refers to the first shear of the animal, not its age. My husband is 6'3" in his socks. The sweater is long enough to ensure full coverage of torso & arms regardless of posture. It is super soft with lovely cabling.

    This is an absolutely beautiful sweater that looks and feels like cashmere, but is alpaca. It gave it to my husband for Christmas and it fits his medium frame perfectly. Now, I just have to teach him not to put it in the washer/dryer!!!

    I like alpaca as much as cashmere, and while this sweater is not as sturdily constructed as the cashmere sweaters from Elgin of Johnston's, it's been a pleasure to wear. Because alpaca (like cashmere) NEVER itches or irritates the skin, it's become a favorite for the many occasions when I'm on the tennis court.

    equal to peruvian connection alpaca sweater. note -- it's a relatively loose knit cable knit of medium weight -- a style I like -- not bulky at all. I was pleased with it at the price and am ordering it in another color as well
