5.0 out of 5 stars. beautiful beddingReviewed by lorraine934 from Marion, MA on Friday, December 27, 2013I bought two sets of these Barbara Barry duvet cover/pillow shams because the patterns work wonderfully with my existing headboard and skirt. I intended to use the blue forties style for winter and switch to this whiter one for summer. The blue is very light pastel and this gold and grey on white is really crisp and sharp, so I've reversed myself. The fabric is sheeting, so there's no weight or substance to it. I believe it is intended to be used European style, as the top sheet, but I use a top and bottom sheet beneath the duvet although I am using the pillow sham as the only pillow case (I bought multiples of the pillow shams to launder regularly with the sheets). I recommend it either way; as the bedding with just a fitted bottom sheet or as a bedspread sort of thing and using ordinary sheets.
