This is a classic riding-jacket. It is good-looking and well finished as all Barbour products, but the fabric of this jacket is very thin and of very average quality. Still a good purchase.

Attractive, lightweight, and useful; only small drawback is the cut, which is a bit constricted across the chest (not a problem for a lean build but more so for a full one).

Unflattering Shape

Bottom Line:

Shoulders as well as arm openings were huge on me, and the arm openings extend so much below my actual arm that I had limited mobility. Sleeves way too short, and body too fitted in proportion to upper portion of jacket (as described above). A classic and useful Barbour piece, obviously designed as an optional liner for under another jacket or coat. Would work if proportions were correct, but for me was like wearing a straight jacket, albeit one with big shoulders. The other Barbour pieces ordered in the same size (UK 8) worked beautifully on me, but this one did not. Will return/exchange for completely different item.
On the plus side: the plaid lining (reverse side) is a nice feature. Its colors allow the option of wearing the navy version with earth-toned fabrics.
