I originally ordered a large, but was swimming in it. Luckily I was able to return it for a medium, which is still a little on the big side. I normally wear a large jacket. This jacket well made, is very warm, the pockets are nice and big, and it looks nice with jeans and a button down shirt. I really love this jacket, although my wife thinks it is ugly.

The coat is larger than its size, but that worked for me as I needed a XXL and all that was left was a XL !

Stylish field jacket that I picked up for [$] on sale. Great Barbour quality that you would expect. Cut and fit could be better. I am normally a Large and had to get a M in this jacket. Size down and you should be good.

For the next purchasers which, as me, size L (38-40) it is necessary to order M (42-44). [...] Today, i don't know what to make of this too big jacket for me : i will try to sell retail it on place... It is really damage because it's a very nice jacket in tweed of very hight quality. On top of that, what a low price in Sierra Trading Post!

At 6'-2" & 195 ordered this in XL originally and was swimming in it. Downsized to Large which is still roomy. Beautiful jacket. Drawstring waist is great for having more fitted look. Looks great with grey flannel pants and cordovan. At this price nothing comes close

I purchased a L and M just in case- my son normally wears a L. Both were too big! Not worth the extra money to send these back and forth. Although excellend quality- their sizing is inconsistent.

Designed along classic Chrysalis upland shooting coat lines, includes sleeve gaiters, waterproof game pocket in rear of skirt, tabs to hold front bellows pockets open for quick access to shells. But this makes a stylish and practical rus in urbs casual coat, much more practical than the waxed Barbour. The gore-tex curtain liner works well to shed drizzle, there are underarm grommet vents, and the tweed is nicer on the hand. This is my second purchase of this model (first was from a shop)--I've worn the first one (slightly different tweed pattern) for five years and it will eventually fray at the cuff edges, so I'm taking advantage of this great price to acquire its replacement in advance of need. Coats with similar feature from Purdey, Holland & Holland, Chrysalis, etc. retail for £600 or so, so this is an excellent value. I prefer the set-in sleeve style of this model to the raglan sleeves on some of the alternatives. This coat has a heavy-duty nylon zipper rather than brass, but over several years' wear I have not found any reason to regret that.

I have been looking for this coat at a reasonable price for two months after seeing it in a shop at three times the price. This coat has a look that can go from stylish to casual. It does not look like a rugged coat but so far it wears like iron and is water and wind proof. I am taking it out on the town and hiking this weekend. My only small issue is a reverse zipper that is taking some getting used to.
