Barbour Goat Suede Utility Jacket (For Women)

This coat is cut absolutely straight down--as if for a man. The shoulders and sleeves are very tight and the sizing is off kilter. I am a 6; I ordered an 8 (equivalent) but it's still quite small at the shoulders, arms and hips. The chest and waist area, however, are loose/baggy. I have an hour-glass like shape; this coat is suitable only for those who are completely straight/hipless. Also, the color is a washed out, used looking brown; perhaps a red head would look good in this color?

I really liked the leather in this garment, and reading the other reviews, I ordered this jacket in a size larger than I normally wear, but it was still too tight across the chest. I reordered two sizes up, but it was just not flattering in the larger size. The fit is awkward.

I love this coat. It feels wonderfully soft, warm and yet lightweight. I read the reviews and decided to go up a size, after US size conversion. It's a bit too big around the shoulders but the hip area fits well even with a light sweater. I find the Barbour cut to be too narrow in the hip area. The snaps around the waist is very flattering when snapped, however, they look stupid when you have to leave them unsnapped to wear something heavier underneath.

This is a beautiful, well made jacket. The tan suede is very soft and buttery and feels rich and smooth. Like all Barbour, it the details are not overlooked - the stand up collar is lined in a lovely contrasting courdoroy, pockets are well placed both inside and out, double zip with a circle pull, lovely plaid lining. Do size up at least 2 sizes if you are used to US sizes - a true US 10 is a Barbour 14. One of the best buys in Barbour jackets I've seen. I'd buy one in another color if it was available.

Like many others have stated, order one size up. I ordered my true size and had to exchange the jacket for the next size up. Although the price was greatly reduced, it was still a splurge for me and one that I don't regret. I love the jacket! It's very comfortable, extremely well made, and I feel like a million dollars+ when I wear it. Go ahead . . . splurge . . . you won't regret it!

Much smaller than anticipated

If you can get the sizing right, nothing beats Barbour. Fit sometimes takes 2 tries, but with STP this is no problem. Ego says I can't be a UK16, which is a generous US12 in this jacket, but it fits perfectly, zips up great and is not too heavy (in either weight or warmth). I feel rich and smart in this jacket and didn't break the bank. Plus it should last forever. What's not to like?

Got this jacket and hoped it would fit. As usual with Barbour it seems to have a bad cut. I can't imagine that every British woman is that much smaller than I am. I got 2 sizes up and it was still tight in arms and chest/shoulders. The top pockets were up too high on the jacket. Too bad- it is the type of jacket and styling I'm seeking-I guess this is why it is over 50% off - the fit is not good. I'd rather pay more and have better fit. I returned this item- [...]
