    The pants come with extra length, so they need to be hemmed as I had expected. Nice heavy fabric drapes well and good for winter wear. I will always have these dry-cleaned.

    The dense, soft fabric has a great hand, and I was impressed at the workmanship. I love the rich deep red. We haven't hemmed these up yet, but I am looking forward to seeing them on my guy, who seems to think he's going to like them as much as the other Barbour pants I got him last year. I note they cannot be machine dried. We dry a lot of things on the rack anyway, but I hope these never wind up in the dryer by accident.

    I wouldn't call the fabric too thin BUT I had recalled Barbour moleskin as being a bit more bullet-proof. In the UK moleskin is the fabric of country people, often inter-changeable w/Carthartt for working clothes; and often billed as 'thorn-proof.' I've bought (by mail) other moleskins that were closer to flannel, these Barbours are head & shoulders above that.
