Barbour Reversible Ayr Jacket - Waterproof (For Men)

Having purchased Barbour apparel in the past, I found this jacket to be below their par. I should stress that there's nothing at all wrong with the jacket, it fits quite nicely and is perfectly waterproof (the reversible aspect isn't very useful as one side is pleasantly conservative while the other looks rather ridiculous) so it's a reasonable piece of apparel. However, my experience with Barbour jackets has led me to expect more than just "a reasonable piece of apparel" and those counting on previous experience with the brand as a means of evaluating this jacket should be warned against its ability to match the normal Barbour standard.

I was looking for a casual/lightweight rain jacket to wear around town, this jacket seems to work fairly well. I have yet to wear it in heavy rain for extended periods of time. It does seem to be waterproof so far though. It's a little to big on me, it's a size large-(I'm 5'9" 165lbs.) But it's ok though-(I can wear a sweater underneath it if need be). It's a little longer then some jackets, but not to long. My only problem with it is the zipper,(the zipper tab is on the left side of coat with blue side out). If you wear the plaid side out it would not be a problem. Evidently men's UK jackets are like this, it takes some getting used to. I know they drive on the wrong side of the road, but backwards zippers too? Other then the zipper issue, the jacket is pretty nice. I dont know if I'd pay full price for it, [...]
