Barbour Zip-Front Wool Cardigan Sweater - Cable Knit (For Women)

This is a lovely sweater. I ordered a larger size as that was the only one available. I adjusted it and am very happy. Length (sleeve and body) is average. Probably not for those with long arms and torso.

This is the one I was asking Barbour to re-make, with the pockets in front and the high neck. Sadly, I can't order in my size. They only have size 14 left for those of us in the US. So, for a fortunate few, this sweater is available to order. The only difference (it would appear) between this sweater and my original sweater (found when in London, at the Grosvenor Square Barbour shop, some years ago) is that it is made in Bulgaria, not Scotland. But, judging from the previous sweater I ordered from Sierra, (same style but without the pockets and the high neck), the wool has remained soft and smooth without puckering or deteriorating with cleaning. So, their new manufacturer appears to be doing a good job. This is a "must have" sweater for anyone, especially a traveler or adventurer.

Lovely sweater but odd fit: long sleeves, rather long body (not bad) but tight through the body. Would be better on a more straightly built body, but as I said, very attractive, just my problem with fit.

Alas, the sleeves were too short and I had to send it back.

Looks and feels like an expensive sweater. Excellent quality and workmanship.

I am often cold this year and was looking for something to keep me warm without too many layers and this looks like it is the answer.

I would agree with other reviewers that this sweater runs small. I am usually a size 8/10 top and I ordered a 14, which fit perfectly. The style is great, it's unbelievably soft, and very warm. Two things would make it better - a two-way zipper allowing the bottom to ease a bit, and some way that it would not pill, which it has begun to do after about 5 wearing. Still, I love it and it's a great buy.

This sweater is worn as a warm layer for walking, warm layer in evening, to go shopping.

This is a great sweater. Well made and very warm. The only con is that it's smaller than I'd expected. I'd purchased it a bit larger but it's smaller and the sleeves are shorter than I like. Anybody else looking at me wearing the sweater probably won't see these faults.

This is a warm and very useful item.
