Soft, thick enough to be warm, but not bulky at all. I wear a 7.5 and they fit great. I haven't worn them in winter yet, so I can't speak to warmth in very cold temps or to wear, but I've been looking for socks like this to wear for every day and casual--once you discover wool, you never want to wear cotton or synthetics again!
