I bought the elevated feeder to keep him from pouncing on his bowls and splashing water all over the floor, and so far it has worked great! Sometimes our dog still takes his food out of the dish and pounces on it on the floor, but he doesn't knock over his water bowl in the process. Thank you! The elevated feeder is sturdy and looks nice. I thought it might be sort of cheap looking when I first took it out of the box, but it actually looks nice on the wood floor... especially since we no longer need to have a big, ugly rubber mat under the bowls. Cleaning is much simpler now too, I easily move the feeder to the side to clean the floor under it and then put it back in place. I'm sure this product is great for older dog, but it's also great for messy dogs.

I am worried about the longevity because when she drinks there is a lot of water left on the wood, which I cannot wipe up after every drink.
