I bought this jacket for my wife to use on our annual fall skiff trip up to Haida Gwaii. The weather that time of year is typical PNW, with as good a chance of sun, as there is of a week of heavy rain. Since our skiff is a small, open craft, and we don't like to curtail our explorations for rain, I thought I would get her a nice outer layer that would prolong the time that we could enjoyably spend in the rain.
The Tower Hydroshell might have been that jacket, but it was too small in the chest, arms and shoulders, so we sent it back, and the search continues. My wife typically wears a women's medium, or a men's small, and this women's medium just didn't have the room inside for additional layers. My wife is not particularly busty, so the sizing problem is a bit of a puzzle.

Well made bib with top notch materials and construction. They do run slightly small, so size up. I've worn size large ski pants for the past 20 years, but had to go with XL as they were a bit tight around the hips and thighs. The kick patches on the inside of the legs is large, unlike many other brands. No need to worry about punching a crampon through. All of the pockets are plenty large enough. They have some stretch to the material. Full length leg zips make it easy to get rid of heat. Suspenders adjust very easily and actually stay put on my shoulders. The gaiters are removable, which is kind of strange. Not too sure why you would want to remove them, but if that's your cup of tea then there ya go! The upper portion of the bibs (above the waist) is a soft-shell like material. Highly recommend these bibs. I normally wear Arcteryx outerwear, but happy that I found these. Arcteryx has a bit of an edge when it comes to craftsmanship and detail, but these are a close second.

I ordered 2 of these because I was looking for something with a trim fit to use for knock around or mid layer. Good quality and warm enough when you need a mid weight layer. I ordered Medium, 5'9" 155#, and they fit fine with two exceptions, a little tight in the arm pit/shoulder area and any shirt with loose long sleeves will make you struggle a little to get your arm in. Sleeve length is good. A compression long sleeve or base layer are your best bets to slide on easily. Otherwise I like it just fine once I have it on.
