Reviewed by MI Skier from Michigan on Wednesday, February 19, 2014Overall the product quality seems consistent with price, however I tried twice (1st size M/L, 2nd size L/XL) after measuring my head properly both times to find something that would fit - and neither did. The M/L should have been correct to provide a proper fit but was too small to even place on to my head, and the L/XL could only fit on my head with the liner removed! This line of Bern helmets would best be targeted toward children & smaller teens.
Reviewed by 2UfromMI from Michigan on Wednesday, February 12, 2014This M/L size was tight on my head which is a size small adult and I bought it for my snowboarding son who is an adult M/L depending on style. Gave this a try and am disappointed to find that it is NOT for snowboarding but rather for a skate park, or summer sports. It is not lined or padded very well, just a thin liner that is removable. Could be a white water or climbing helmet without the liner and it's a very small sized thin low profile helmet. Not what you would use in winter sports in the terrain parks.
Reviewed by Jim from Minnesota on Sunday, February 2, 2014I've ordered two Bern helmets now from STP, and this one is the same outer shell as the other I have. The lining are interchangeable with that one. I got the XL and it fits well, not huge by any means- I normally wear L or XL helmets.
The chin strap is short on this model. I have mine as long as it will go and it just barely fits under my chin comfortably. Seems odd, as the other bern strap is only adjusted about 3/4 of the way to the longest possible strap.
Another thing I like doing with this helmet is to wear my Mtn Hardware thin fleece cap underneath (I remove the liner that comes with). So, its versatile.
Reviewed by Midwest mama from Ohio on Thursday, December 19, 2013Good looking helmet. However, I was surprised that it was a men's and not a youth due to its dive. We ordered a large for my 12 year old, too small then exchanged for an XL. Still too small even with adjustment. Unfortunately, it is going back. My advise would be to order a size up. Cannot speak to its performance.
Reviewed by ED from Providence, RI on Friday, July 26, 2013I have tied multiple Bern helmets and there seems to be a lack of consistent sizing.
