I have ordered several weights of this shooting head (500gr, 525gr and 550gr) for various spey rods that I have built. All of these Skagit heads cast GREAT when matched with the proper weight spey rod! The shooting heads have loop-to-loop connections making changing heads and leaders super easy. I have these heads connected to various running lines on various reels and all systems work flawlessly! The finish on the line is super slick and lays out nice with out any memory coil. I'm curious to see if this is true when used in the winter on Steelhead. If you like to cast with a Skandy line, try the Beulah Elixer V2 Shooting Head. I have never used these Beulah products before, but after trying one (because of the great price), I bought a variety of 3 Skagit and 3 Skandy heads. I would highly recommend this product!
