I watched a Martha Stewart YouTube video on the Bialetti which also showed how to make frothed milk in 45secs for a cappuccino. It doesn't play music when you get it but after following the directions of a previous reviewer (Thanks lvjbird from Las Vegas;I guess not All things that happen in LV stay in LV!)it now sings beautifully to me. AWESOME espresso from such a simple machine!

Thanks to lvjbird from Las Vegas! I followed this reviewer's instructions for changing the batteries and now it plays music! When the music starts, the coffee is done. I travelled to Italy this past May and my hostess made me wonderful espresso in this little pot and I have been on a mission to find it ever since. I discovered it was no longer available, but lo and behold, STP had it! Thank you so much STP. I can now make great espresso and when the music plays it reminds me of my wonderful visit to Italy.

Who cares if the pot doesn't play music? It's a great little classic Italian espresso pot that makes good coffee in a jiffy (I use Lavazza black label). You're getting a big discount because it makes no noise.

    • Cons: Sound Does Not Work

Our unit came with dead batteries = no sound. The instruction manual should say: Mi Scusi Mi Scusi because NO HELP AT ALL. Online, I was able to read there is a cap on the knob that comes off where the batteries are located.

It took vise grips and a watch flathead screwdriver to pop that stubborn cap off where the O ring is at the top of the knob. The entire battery unit fits inside the side grooves and sits in a white paste.

I used needle nose pliers to pull this entire unit out. Next put in
(Lithium CR 2032 3V) good batteries with the positive side up away from the spring, online it said the silver part of battery (not positive side). Push spring up with top battery to fit other battery.

Put battery unit back in with green area fitting into grooves. It should push down well inside. Replace cap on knob, turn the Knob over on a table and push down to snap into place. When you hear the wonderful music it will be well worth the effort.

WE used this a few times without the sound and it worked well making the espresso. But the sound is nice!
This unit works fantastic, and the espresso is great! I used fine ground french roast (that is what I have on hand) and used about 1 Tbsp. per 2 oz of water. It works really fast.
We mixed it with a little of Trader Joe's vanilla protein shake over ice for a great iced latte.

It makes good expresso, but it doesn't "sing" when expresso is done, and can't figure out why.
