Reviewed by Colorado heart ,Iowa head from iowa on Friday, January 31, 2014i have the copper spur 4 and 3 and have spent 30 nights out in all kinds alpine conditions . Freezing rain, sleet, snow , wind up to 25MPH and higher and there i have never been as secure and dry as in the copper spur design - i use both of these tents for base camp and backpacking ( i have to fly my gear to where i am going and this ten is the best for both . It is a palace for two people to base camp with and backpack with and at 5lbs (with a polycro ground sheet) it is not the lightest but works for both purposes. the tent evenly divides between two people for carrying - the space is great and vestibules are substantial - enough for pack, boots, and you can cook out of too.
Big Agnes makes some other lighter tents but for me this is a great blend of weight and superior protection.
Reviewed by CT Hiker from CT on Wednesday, January 15, 2014A solid 2 person tent (3 would be pushing it). I am very glad I was able to get one at these prices. I originally bought the two person from my local outfitter and with my big agnes Qcore sleeping pads there was 2 inches of room so I went with this one and ended up paying only $25 more. Shaved two and a half pounds off my old tent. The set up is not as easy as the old, "two pole" tents but I guess I will get used to it.
