Big Sky Carvers Shadows Bookends - Iron

I ordered the Bear design. I am pleased with these as they are attractive, well-made and heavier than average. The also have a wider-than-average under-book flange. Good for keeping larger books upright. I plan to use them on top of my computer armoir to organize manuals, reference books, magazines, and folders. Out of the way, but within easy reach. Their good looks are a real bonus--when I close the doors on the hardware, they become a decor item. As some have said, a candle/tea light could be placed behind the cut-out design. If the books get a bit too heavy, I could even hide some weight behind them to hold more books! My favorite--quality at a good price.

The design is very subtle - not overwhelmingly woodsy. Very sturdy and just the right size for books without overwhelming the smaller ones. The space behind the cutout design is enough for a candle to sit there too!

I bought both the bookends and the clock. The cut-out design is very understated, but attracts comments due to its design.

These bookends are lighter than I thought they would be, but they are well designed and functional. They were perfect for holding cookbooks on a desk in my kitchen. The design is subtle and the neutral color adds to their versatility.
