I got this for less than $63 after a 30% discount. I got this for less than $63 after a 30% discount. For the Texas Gulf, where I surf, a basic shortie is almost useless (to me, at least) because the water temp changes so quickly in the spring and fall (consistent with the huge range of water temps--from about 55F to over 85F). But since most people would want a 4/3 or high-quality 3/2 fullsuit for the dead of winter, it's nice to have a lighter 2nd wetsuit for early spring and late fall. I wanted short sleeves but long legs because my knees like protection, and I wanted something cheap enough that I could turn into a capri (3/4 leg) suit without feeling guilty. (The lower calf area is basically excess material in moderate temps.) Being less expensive than most entry-level shorties, this fit the bill perfectly. Moreover, unlike most shorties and even springsuits, it has sealed seams (which makes it significantly better in cooler moderate temps without being too hot in warmer moderate temps). It was also available in MT (my size) and MS (which is unavailable even in the majority of long-sleeve fullsuits). And the MT fits me perfectly. It's not 100% superstretch, but it doesn't need to be. There are superstretch panels in all the right places as well as pre-bent knees, so you get all the flex you need for a 2mm suit while gaining the durability of regular-stretch neoprene. I can't really comment on durability or in-water performance because I haven't tried it yet (which is the reason I gave it 4 stars rather than 5), but my guess is that it will keep its shape and otherwise last longer than competitive models with 100% stretch, such as the Quiksilver Syncro.
    • Best Uses: Moderate water temps, Surfing, When too cold for shortie
    • Pros: Fit, Flex, Good paneling design, Heavy-duty zipper, Knee pads, price, Sealed GBS seams
