Every pair of birks is a bit different; the toe arch hits in a different place in this pair. So it took a couple of days of walking around indoors before I decided they would pass the test. Finally I had the bright idea of putting on socks to test them instead of just wearing them barefoot because it is June. The color is a rich deep purple and the leather is a bit tougher than the usual nubuck - which I like in a "winter" birk.

However, when I tried them on I noticed on the left shoe, there's a thin rubbery flap sticking into my toes. VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. I tried to pull it out, but it won't budge. Due to the way the shoe is designed, I'm not able to use scissors at the inner toe area to cut it out. Needless to say, I'm rather disappointed in this purchase. They ran out of my size, so I'm not exactly able to exchange it for a non-defective pair.

The size says narrow but I can't tell that they are narrower than a regular size. Got a great price and would definitely recommend them!

When I stumbled upon these at STP, with their great sale, I had to jump on it. Very happy to have added these to my collection. The leather is so soft and the purple is a very rich color.The comfort of Birkenstock's are perfect for my bad knees, bunions, and lower back issues. I am slowly replacing all my shoes for these. I need to build up my sandal collection now.

I have narrow feet and, though I can wear a medium width in most shoes, if there is a narrow option available, I generally order it. So I was surprised that this shoe didn't fit me even in a narrow width. I bought a 41N in another style of Birkenstock some time ago and have been very pleased with the fit of that shoe, but my foot really just swam in this Boston Clog. The shoe looked and felt huge, so (sadly) I have to return it. Nevertheless, the shoe is sweet, the color is great, and Sierra Trading Post is just a fabulous place to shop. I'll be exchanging this for a different style and, thankfully, STP makes that very easy to do.
