Birkenstock Eaton Suede Clogs (For Men and Women)

Love the shoes! Very comfortable with or without socks

I would wear these every day if I could get a pair in every color!

I ordered these using the guide that said--runs large order down 1 size. I had to send them back because they were too small! I'd say order your regular Birk size.

I have worn Birkenstock clogs and sandals for decades and so the prospect of owning a pair of clogs that looked a bit more put together than an ordinary clog was great. The Birkenstock Eaton clog delivered in that regard. While still a very comfy, true Birkenstock, it adds a bit more style to my wardrobe due to the buckles going across and the slighty boxier shape. I got them in navy blue and really like the dark rich suede color. I must say though that the fit was a bit bigger than expected. I have a wide foot and always wear the R (=Regular) Birkenstock sizes but still the Eaton felt quite wide and I had to tighten the buckle to get a better, more secure fit. As a matter of fact, to get the best fit I would have had to tighten the buckle to a point where it squeezed the suede into folds. I think this "wide width" is mostly due to the boxy shape, it is not the footbed as such. The regular Birkenstock clogs (like the Boston) become a bit narrower towards the opening, but the Eaton does not, so this is not a shoe I would want to wear for a full day of running around just because the hold isn't quite there. This might be remedied by ordering a smaller size than one regularly wears but I would not recommend to go with a narrower width because - as said above - it is not the footbed but the upper part of the clog that lacks some hold. All in all though it is a nice shoe, and when worn with thicker socks, the overly generous feel might be a plus in the end.

Despite the advice on the description, I did not feel that these shoes ran large. I usually wear a 9 medium and this shoe fit perfectly at a size 40 with the filled in foot print.
