Birkenstock Madrid Leather Sandals (For Women)

Lovely bronze in color. At first the shoes were rather stiff. I got a couple blisters under the strap on one, but now that they are nicely broken in the sandles are quite comfortable. Now that I have worn them several weeks, the leather on the inner side is picking up quite a few black scuff marks from the tread of the opposite sandles. Doesn't look very nice. It doesn't rub off. I haven't tried other methods of removing the black marks yet. This is probably my 8th pair of Birkenstocks. I've learned that it is best to err on the side of a bit too big. Once you've worn them for a while, the front of the sandle tends to curl up slightly and then they will fit perfectly. If you buy them with a perfect fit in the beginning, they will become too small to accommodate your toes once the fronts start curling up. I've seen so many people in Birkenstocks that are too small for them.

I bought a 38 N. I need to buckle it in the 2nd hole; thank goodness they are adjustable. I have trouble getting a good fit because my feet are narrow. The arch support works well with my high arches. I agree with the other woman who said they require a break-in period. I had sensitive spots on the tops of my feet just above the toes after 15 or 20 minutes of wearing them.

I'm really pleased with my sandals. I am hoping they are constructed to last a long time!!

I love wearing Birkenstocks and have several pair. The problem is that too many styles are uncomfortable and/or clunky looking because they have too many straps that come up too high on my upper foor close to my ankle. The Madrid styling eliminates all that and are really stylish, too!

As always, Birkenstock shoes are fabulous. Maybe not the most beautiful but certainly the most comfortable. This is pair # 47.....& that says it all!!

This is the fourth pair of Birkenstocks I have purchased. These shoes will last you forever. I still have my first pair that I bought 18 years ago. This is the second pair I have bought in this style and it is by far my favorite style. I love the one strap. I lost my previous pair in this style. The color is an awesome and stunning blue. I would suggest that if you have a narrow foot, buy the narrow, but for everyone else the regular is just fine. They are oh, so comfortable and you can wear them just about everywhere (with or without socks). These shoes will last you a lifetime.

i love birkenstock but i prefer styles that have a little more stability -- the top strap on this shoe just doesn't seem to hold me in it. maybe it will just take some getting used to - but they are difficult to walk in and the top of the strap cut slightly into my feet.
