These bison belts just fit the bill for under a sweater or shirt worn "out." They work well and you avoid that buckle bulge.

Bought it to use while traveling. Simple, light, and narrow enough to fit all my pants and shorts. I'm a horse lover so of course the running horse design helped seal the deal, that and the cheap price.

I have several Bison belts. Great for jeans and casual pants. Sometimes have a slight tendency to loosen a bit.

  • Question “How bulky is the buckle on these belts--i.e. do they look really "bumpy" under a shirt?”
Asked on 6/12/2011 12:00:00 AM by Looking for Belts from Unknown
    • Answer They aren't that bulky, it's a thin belt overall in my opinion.
Answered on 6/21/2011 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from Unknown
    • Answer no bulkier than any other belt
Answered on 11/5/2011 12:00:00 AM by Juli of the Winds from Wind River Range, Wyoming
  • Question “Is the indicated size of the belt the actual length of the belt or the waist size that the belt will fit?”
Asked on 1/28/2010 12:00:00 AM by John from NH
    • Answer The size is the actual size of the belt. When you order a belt, you should order two sizes up and that will fit your size.
Answered on 2/10/2010 12:00:00 AM by Customer Care from Sierra Trading Post
    • Answer Bison Designs site indicates the sizes are an "up to X inches" size. So, up to a 38" waist or up to a 42" waist. If in doubt, consider going up to the larger size. You may end up with more of a webbing tail, but that can be tucked away.
Answered on 2/15/2010 12:00:00 AM by Seamus from Ohio
    • Answer It's the waist size the belt will fit. I trimmed about 3" off both of mine (both size 38) and they're still about 41" long, so that after cinching them up on my size 34 waist I still have several inches of "tail" or whatever the end is called. Sharp scissors and a lighter/match/candle will do the trick.
Answered on 4/26/2010 12:00:00 AM by Toms2Sense from Prescott, AZ
    • Answer The size doesn't really matter, you will cut the end off to make it fit. Order extra large.
Answered on 4/27/2010 12:00:00 AM by SOD engineer from Cheyenne, Wyoming
    • Answer The size medium I ordered is approximately 44 1/2 inches long.
Answered on 7/2/2010 12:00:00 AM by threedogmom from Robinson, IL
    • Answer No it's much bigger. It's a medium and measures at least 42". I cut mine down and burned the edge for a clean finish. My husband wears it too.
Answered on 8/2/2010 12:00:00 AM by sushibarb from Loveland, Colorado
    • Answer The size medium belt that I bought was 44 inches long (not the advertised 38 inches). It is easy enough to cut down to size, then melt the end with a match to keep it from fraying.
Answered on 8/11/2010 12:00:00 AM by Ken from San Francisco, CA
    • Answer Although the length was not verified with a tape measure, the size given seems to be the length of the belt. "M38" implies a medium belt of 38 inches length.

  • Question “Is there anywhere online where I can see what some of these colors/patterns look like? The manufacturer's website no longer has them, or possibly labels them something else.”
Asked on 12/2/2009 12:00:00 AM by Mom from Unknown
    • Answer If you click on the thumb nail of the color the picture of the belt will change to that color and patern.
Answered on 12/23/2009 12:00:00 AM by Customer Care from Sierra Trading Post
  • Question “Is the buckle metal, or something that will pass through TSA without removal?||Thanks.”
Asked on 11/25/2009 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from Unknown
    • Answer I just wore my through the metal detector over Thanksgiving twice. It's a polycarbonate buckle. No TSA troubles. Enjoy the belt!
