“The photo looks like a low cut shoe with a separate liner. Actually, it is a shoe with a sewn-in gravel guard. The gravel guard has a vertical velcro closure that is hard to keep open while putting the shoes on.
I think the sole with both felt and rubber may be the answer to BWCA portages. I'll likely cut the gravel guards off.
They fit my 5E foot ok by ordering one size up.”
