Sewn in loop? These are a "Standard"[STD] cut which means they are supposed to come with a sewn-in loop(as pictured). The lenght adjustment is made by cutting off the tail. Reader: make sure that these are not cut too short- 1/4- 3/8" from ski tail, instead of recommended 1/2"- will do. On my next pair, I may leave a slight protrusion of the glueless center strip to make removal easier. The last reviewer must be describing a pre-cut/pre-fitted skin- which also comes with a sewn-in tip & an STS tail fixture. STD are not meant to attach to the tail by any means other than glue & work great on twin tip setups or on minimalist backcountry set-ups. I own a pair of Glidelite STD's & use them for bc laps & racing. Tips: forget the recommended 'cheatsheets'- they delaminate, leaving pieces of plastic embedded in your adhesive(I'm taking one star off just for this). Keep the sticky parts away from anything that can stick to them- tail ends are most prone to coming undone it they've got a bunch of stuff glued to them. I keep an oval piece of plastic on a wrist-leash to assist with easy tail removal.

The wire lop for attaching the skins to the ski tips can be too large, allowing the skins to slip backward. Newer versions have an adjustable wire loop.

These skins came with the tips pre-sewn in, so when I tried following the directions on how to move the tip around for a wider ski, I was unable to do so. I called BlackDiamond for help and they were great. The guy I talked to said that the tips shouldn't have been pre sewn, but that can happen from larger distrubuters some tims. He is sending me two larger tips and advised me how I can cut the tips off and use the adhesive on the skis to attach the new clips when they arrive. I would not purchase these from here if you have a wider ski that may need a different tip.
