“Sewn in loop? These are a "Standard"[STD] cut which means they are supposed to come with a sewn-in loop(as pictured). The lenght adjustment is made by cutting off the tail. Reader: make sure that these are not cut too short- 1/4- 3/8" from ski tail, instead of recommended 1/2"- will do. On my next pair, I may leave a slight protrusion of the glueless center strip to make removal easier.
The last reviewer must be describing a pre-cut/pre-fitted skin- which also comes with a sewn-in tip & an STS tail fixture. STD are not meant to attach to the tail by any means other than glue & work great on twin tip setups or on minimalist backcountry set-ups.
I own a pair of Glidelite STD's & use them for bc laps & racing. Tips: forget the recommended 'cheatsheets'- they delaminate, leaving pieces of plastic embedded in your adhesive(I'm taking one star off just for this). Keep the sticky parts away from anything that can stick to them- tail ends are most prone to coming undone it they've got a bunch of stuff glued to them. I keep an oval piece of plastic on a wrist-leash to assist with easy tail removal.”
