This pack provides spots for my back country gear and provides easy access to shovel and probe.

Great pack for its intended purpose. Carries very well. Easy access of important things, (shovel, probe)Could use a divider or two in the main compartment.

This pack is perfect for the avid backcountry skier or snowboarder. The extra compartment for a shovel and probe means there's a lot more room in the main compartment. It fits great and is pretty light, even with the integrated Avalung. My only concern is that the Avalung tube seems a bit on the weaker side; the tube is sort of like a big "bendable straw" and repeated expanding and collapsing of the tube may create weak points and eventually breaks - not a good thing. Regardless, as long as the tube is in the protective sleeve when not in use it should be find. The protective sleeve can be a little funky to zip up when putting the Avalung mouthpiece away. Overall it's still an awesome pack and the Avalung is a little extra piece of mind. Every avid backcountry user should have one.
