I hike weekly in the Sandia mountains (based elevation 6500 feet) near Albuquerque and found myself becoming accustomed to wearing gloves thus I was looking for something to wear as the weather warmed. Have worn the gloves about five or six times thus far and am quite satisfied with the fit and comfort. They were especially handy last Friday as I hiked up the mountain to the crest which is over 10,000 feet in altitude. Was quite cool on top with some snow still present. The only drawback thus far is sweat, the result to New Mexico's ample sunshine, the color of the gloves and my inclination to sweat profusiously. While the top of the gloves do ventilate the grip area tends to soak it up. During breaks I put them in the sun, palm up, to dry them out. Despite that minor inconvience I do intend on continuing to wear them as the weather warms. Will also wear them next month as I do a rim-2-rim hike of the Grand Canyon.
