These are great poles and STP offers a great price! This is the best carbon pole out there. I've used K2 composite poles and they are too flexible for my taste, so I replaced by BD carbon poles and I'm very happy! You can replace the baskets for BD powder baskets to ski a powder day and get back to the smaller baskets the next day. THe only thing I don't like is the pole straps, they are too bulky and even though the design is great I removed the straps because I can't use since they are too bulky and get in the way even when not in use, wish BD would use the same straps they have on the pure carbon adjustable poles.

I purchased these poles for this season and have not been disappointed. They are sturdy and I really like the aggressive grip on them. I also really like how light weight they are (great for a long day ski instructing).

  • Question “Can the shafts be cut down. I use 120 poles. Only 115 and 130 are available. ”
Asked on 3/8/2013 1:10:44 PM by Ray from New York
    • Answer We at Sierra Trading Post can not cut them down. Since they are carbon poles I know it would take a special cutter. I not sure you would end up with a satisfactory result.
