    I've owned several sets of poles that I use for alpine, trekking, telemark skiing, snowshoeing, etc. My most recent telemark poles are probe poles that expand. They tend to move when compressed and collapse at the wrong time. These flicklock poles are fantastic and in the few uses I've tried them out, are great!

    I can use these poles for downhill, backcountry, and cross country skiing. I am thrilled with how light they are. I cannot comment on the durability just yet. Please look at the size (max 125cm) because I am 5"9" and I am almost on the last height adjustment for cross country sking at 120cm.

    light weight, adjustable poles. great for any backcountry excursions. the lower carbon fiber shaft reduces the swing weight. the basket comes with is great for any condition expect for the deepest of the deep (buy the powder basket separately). the 3/4 basket grips and anchors on the hard/ice slopes when going up hill.

    These poles are amazing. I looked for awhile for a bargain on a Black Diamond product, and Sierra Trading Post delivered--again! Initially I didn't have the screws tightened enough on the locks, so the poles kept sliding (clearly user error) but once I took care of that, no problems. I would HIGHLY recommend these poles to anyone looking for a great value and excellent product for nordic skiing.
