Very lightweight and compact. Has a nice dual hook design for hanging. The on/off button can be difficult to find by feel in the dark. Plenty of light for general use it a tent. Hanging in the center of a two person backpacking dome tent, it is not quite enough light to read by but part of that has to do with position. I agree with a previous reviewers comment regarding the tint of the light. The opaque plastic surround could easily be made to give the light a warmer hue.

This thing is quite small... smaller than I imagined (tho I should have read the dimensions). That said, it's a perfect light for backpacking. I find it's easier at times to carry both a headlamp and a second light--both as a back up, and because it's nice to have something stationary. This is a great, lightweight choice. And of course price on STP is awesome.

This little lantern is awesome. It's compact, lightweight, and puts out plenty of light. Although I bought it for backcountry use I've ended up using it around the house as a portable nightlight. For the most part it's too bright...I end up using it on its lowest setting. The only very minor complaint I have is that I wish the switch was easier to feel in the dark....but they made it this way (nearly flush with the body of the lantern) so the it would collapse properly for storage...but that's a minor issue...it's utility has far exceeded this one very minor inconvenience. Highly recommended!
