    Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
    Everyone venturing into the backcountry on skis, snowshoes, or a board now has his/her shovel, avy beacon, and probe [ok everyone w/a brain larger than a walnut]so they are all set, right? Well maybe - but if you end up on a glacier or trying to gain entry into a steep couloir or heaven forbid need to haul a buddy out after a bad crash, nothing beats some rope, webbing, and a few 'biners as critical tools for getting home alive. BD's 30m Rando Rope is just the answer - light and compact enough that you will actually carry it and robust enough for glacier travel, short rappels, etc. If you push limits or go light for the summit, this is the cheapest insurance policy around.
