The trick to this tent is to buy it on sale, find a permanent location in the back yard, and install the tent with some help. This is not an up and down kind of car travel tent. If you are looking for a great spa cover or place to sit outside protected from the sun or rain then this is the tent for you. I recommend that you place cinder blocks on top of the ground stakes if you live in a very windy area (6 blocks). Our tent has been up a year and has with stood 60 mph wind gusts.

[...] I took a chance since I did not care about the weight of the tent. However, this is probably the worst designed product I have ever seen. First, it is extremely heavy. That would be ok, but it is incredibly difficlt to put togeather. There is no way that most women could erect this. The sliding poles are simply too difficut to adjust given the tension of the tent. Second, you have to stake the tent before erecting. Hope you have a soft spot. Also, there is no floor and the storage bag is too small for the tent. It seems to be somthing that was designed in the 1970's. Save yourself the time and effort to send this back, and do NOT purchase it.

I bought this tent for my two-year-old son's introductory camping trip. It was a frustration trying to set it up in the yard before our trip, and not any better in the woods. How about one or two simple instructions with the tent? Once we had it set up, it did provide all the comfortable space and open, airy feel that we wanted. It was pretty good at keeping out water during some very heavy rainstorms and was very sturdy during near-tornado winds. Despite all that, two of the zippers couldn't stand up to two days of normal use. The zipper repairs were estimated at more than I paid for the tent, so I threw it away after only one use!!!

The hardware on the folding legs seems to abrade holes in the wall and roof fabric when the tent is collapsed, probably just due to normal handling in its carry bag.

A portable cabin with plenty of headroom and covered space for storing gear. The features are too many to count and the external frame extention and waterproof fly double the area under the tent by creating a large vestibule which opens on three sides. Pretty remarkable for the price.

I'm returning this tent. It's not worth owning. The cheap tents from big-box discount stores are twice as good as this flimsy thing.
