“This could be a 'go to' fly when fishing streams containing stoneflies. The larger sizes have been productive on Colorado streams and rivers for quality trout in several species. This fly is tied unlike any pheasant tail that you have ever seen. There is way too much material in the tail and abdomen and the thorax is also oversized. The Rubber leggs give good action and the bead head is oversized which gets you down to the fish. I like sizes 10 and 14 and often use them together. The fly gets high marks for durability and you can actually catch a few fish before it starts to disenigrate. The fish probably think that this fly is a stonefly nymph.”
