“Great buy”

“I live in Texas, where a typical winter day is in the 50s and you can't even find waterproof, insulated boots in stores. So before taking a trip to Chicago in January, I talked with friends there and realized that my shoes were going to be really inadequate unless I wore my hiking boots. Not posh enough! I bought these for the dressy-casual looks and functional features. They have a low heel that dresses them up and grippy soles that feel secure on snow. In the teens and 20s my feet still got cold, but the faux fur lining did make a difference. The zippers make for easy on-and-off, great for leaving the boots at the door to avoid tracking in salt & snow. They also have removable insoles, appealing if you want to add an orthosis or use more supportive insoles. They are a bit narrow, though, and have little arch support. Because of the low heel, my feet slide forward and my toes touch the front of the shoes. I'd recommend ordering a half size larger; wear thick socks or add foam insoles to compensate, if you need to.”
