This is a technical jacket with a primary purpose of keeping you dry. Like most shells, it provides protection from wind but where this jacket really shines is in wet, sloppy conditions. I've used this jacket sailing offshore in winter squalls as well skiing in the coldest windiest conditions that New England can offer. Wearing this jacket has kept me warm and dry. I can't recommend this jacket enough.

Great jacket. Looks really well made and a lot of thought went into it. Has "hidden" internal drawstring to draw tight at the waist inside the jacket. Small drainholes in pockets, one pocket has a elastic detachable clip that you could attach a knife or small flashlite (won't fall overboard if the pocket is left open). Internal rubberized sleeves keep water out-again not visible. One minor peeve-the collar stands up quite high, this is due to the hidden hood. Not sure that there is anyway to improve that. Fabric looks/feels tough yet flexible. Superior in that regard to Gortex. Has enough room that is OK alone or with a fleece. I plan to use fishing in the spring/fall in the Northeast.
