Reviewed by The Mom from Central PA on Thursday, May 16, 2013We ordered this shirt in XL for my son who needs a cover up when he participates in water sports. XL is usually slightly baggy on him, but even with assistance, he could not put this shirt on without looking like his entire body had been stuffed inside a TEDS stocking. The material has some stretch, but the seam thread does not, effectively acting as a tourniquet on his arms, belly, and neck. We wonder if the size was mislabeled on the shirt or if all of this brand tend to run small. If you order this shirt, definitely get it in one size larger. We realize rash guard shirts are supposed to be close fitting, but this was way beyond that standard and dangerously tight. We liked that it had an attached loop in the middle of the front hem to secure the shirt to his trunks, helping the shirt stay on and not ride up. The loop would also help divers and surfers from accidentally losing their trunks in the water. As always, Sierra Trading was great about making the exchange as hassle free as possible. We returned the shirt and replaced it with another Body Guard brand rash guard shirt in XL with short sleeves and it fits properly. My son loves the shirt.

I got him XL, and it fits him well although it's tight around neck to the point it's really hard to pull over the head. Otherwise it's nice and snug on him, just like it should be. For the illustration: he is 6' 7" tall, no body fat whatsoever, chest 42": tall and wiry. I sincerely don't know if it would fit anybody with larger chest volume or just a tiny bit more fat, and I bought it solely because of the previous reviews complaining that it's tight.

I ordered a mens large and X-large for my wife. She is 5'9" 155 lbs, size 10. The men's XL fit her well. There was no hope of the that shirt fitting me (6'1", 225). The men's large size fits my 5'2" 100 lb size 4 daughter.
