Bogner Alena-D Jacket - Down Insulation (For Women)

I'm not familiar with Bogner, but needed a coat for a visit to the northern hemisphere in winter. (Had to order one from the U.S.!) This one is lovely. Fits well--although these down coats always add a lot of bulk, and I wished I could have tried a smaller size (8) instead of the 10s available -- but it fits. It's a very nice cut, seems very nicely designed, with nice features. The only drawback is that it has snaps instead of zippers, which seems to me is likely to limit its ability to withstand the cold. But it's a vast improvement over the shapeless Eddie Bauer down jacket I had many years ago. I will wear it with pleasure.

This jacket was very disappointing. I have purchased a lot of Bogner products over the years, including from Sierra Trading Post. This jacket simply lacked the casually elegant and distinctive style of Bogner. It was also a flat and unattractive brown color. It looked like an inexpensive down jacket. I returned it immediately.

First ordered black in size 12 which was too big, returned for exchange,[...]. I did not like how the jacket fit around the neck (much too puffy). I love Bogner, however, I was not impressed with this jacket. Must say quality is exceptional.

It keeps me warm in cold weather
