While insulated with dawn, this jacket is not puffy (doesn't have a "Michelin Man" look), which is great. I got it in my preferred from the two available colors: olive. I like it very much. The outer fabric is thick and, while I haven't tested it yet, it seems to be able to block wind very well. Of course, a detachable hood is very practical. The hood also has snaps – if one likes fur (I don't) - one can buy a fur collar from Bogner to attach to it, and spiffy it up. The zipper, as usual with this kind of jackets, is slower than one would wish for to start (the zipping up process). The snaps are a practical feature; the only fault: there is no snap at the waistline drawcord (just below and above it, so the jacket may be gapping if only snapped and not zipped). I wear Bogner is size 4 (I'm 34"-25"-36" in chest-waist-hips respectively). This jacket was not available through Sierra in that size, so I got it is size 6 (hence, I haven't tested it outdoors yet). Being 5'4" and 100 lb, the waist of this jacket sits at my natural waistline; it's just that the jacket is a little bigger than perfect on me, but my husband says that it looks very fine and that it will keep me warm, so I should keep it.
