Bogner Lenarda Jacket - Silk (For Women)

I expected something pretty amazing at a normal retail price of [$]. The fabric is very nice, with a pleasant but not overpowering sheen, and I'll keep it because it's a unique fabric and a good color, but the cut and fit were nothing special. Overall, when on, it just isn't smashing.

This versatile piece can go dressy or sporty. The body-hugging cut and lustrous silk make it suitable for the symphony or an office party: just throw it on over a simple top and skirt or trousers, and you're dressed. With cute jeans and nice boots, it's date night. As for the sporty side, the jacket has panel construction and classy top-stitching that can be played up for tailored and daytime looks. That little top had better be very thin, though -- because this jacket really is cut close, especially under the arms. This is typical for Bogner's "Sonia Bogner" line. So unless you are feeling quite svelte, you might consider starting with one size larger than your true size. I went with my true size, and I am happy, because I like to show off my waist. But it's borderline, I admit. The sleeve length is perfect for my long arms, and the body length is ideal. The color is a true creamy ivory. The materials, including hefty mother-of-pearl buttons, are of visibly high quality. The German workmanship is excellent, of course. This jacket was a good addition to my wardrobe. I look forward to wearing it more in spring.
