  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Bolle Bounty Satin Red Frame Sun Glasses.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by G-Man from New York on Friday, August 7, 2015
Very nice FULL SIZED sunglasses that are excellent for Riding Motorcycles/Bicycles etc. These glasses actually cover all of your eyes and fit my Medium large head/face very well. The lenses are nice and dark for those very bright sunny days. They ARE NOT shiny RED frames, but more of a pastel satin red, definitely not SHINEY ! Excellent sun glasses for the closeout price. I bought two pairs. Like them very much and recommend them.
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Much better than my old pair of sunglasses
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Ian Y. from Connecticut on Thursday, August 6, 2015
The Bolle Bounty is only my second pair of sunglasses, so my opinion of it has a lot to do with how I compare it to my first pair: the Julbo Zulu with brown-tinted polarized lenses.

I generally liked the Zulu, but there were a few features that made them not so great:

    * They were very tight behind the ears, causing pain after only a short period of wear (this was a common complaint among STP customers; unfortunately the polarized model is no longer being sold on STP so you can't read most of reviews on it, including mine).
    * They sat so close to my face that my eyelashes constantly made contact with the lenses, not only causing discomfort but also regularly greasing up the lenses (probably the result of having a flatter face with a shallower nose bridge).
    * They felt heavy.

For me, Bolle Bounty outdoes the Julbo Zulu in almost every way. Here's why:

    * These Bolle sunglasses do not feel tight behind the ears. In fact, the frames actually have sleek (rubber?) padding built into the arms to counter such discomfort.
    * Unlike the Julbo Zulu, the Bolle Bounty does not have a nosepiece built into the sunglasses. Instead, it has a detachable nose bridge, which lifts the glasses off my face. This makes the eyelash issue less of a problem to the point that I don't notice my eyelashes touching the lenses the majority of the time I wear my sunglasses.
    * This pair weighs 0.2 oz less than the Julbo Zulu. While that seems like a small amount, I can definitely feel the difference.
    * The lens clarity is wonderful, even with some smudges. Perhaps the Trivex material actually makes a difference?
    * As others have mentioned, the lenses are bigger than they appear in the picture. This isn't a bad thing, though: The lenses are big enough to provide sufficient coverage, but not too big as to look ridiculous.

As for downsides, there is something (intentionally?) going on with the side of the lenses facing my face. There seems to be a layer of material (?) affixed to the lens that makes even microfiber cloths hard to slide across the surface. This is only the case for the side of the lens facing my face, not the side facing out. At first I found it annoying, but it looks like that layer has done a great job repelling eyelash/hair grease and dust that regularly affected my Julbo Zulu. If that is indeed the case, then I'm fine with it taking a little more time to clean my Bolle Bounty.

The only other downside is that the carrying case is pretty bulky and hard to zip up. My Julbo carrying case is much more slender and manageable.

Do I miss my Julbo Zulu sunglasses? Not really, though Julbo's lifetime warranty (vs. Bolle's two-year warranty + limited cost 4ever lifetime warranty) is a bonus that I'm missing out on.
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Lens size a bit larger than it looks online, but good quality, as expected, from Bolle
Reviewed by takethecannoli from U.S. of A. on Wednesday, August 5, 2015
Was looking for a pair of polarized glasses that are of high quality but won't break the
bank. This is a great buy when you get it at the right price, but the lenses appeared a lot
larger on my face than they appeared in the online photo. Still, the lenses provide
great clarity and haven't fogged up yet the times I've worn it. I think they look better on me,
a woman, than they did on my husband, who also didn't like the prominent red colored frames,
so I get to wear them. If they came in a more neutral color, I'd consider another pair.

These are fantastic to wear while biking, even if they aren't the tight fitting frameless style
    cycling glasses.
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. nice glasses, but not as described

These glasses are polarized, but they are not photochromatic as described. The frame color is also a darker brownish-red than suggested by the picture. Best suited to medium and large faces.
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Nice glasses, just not my style

These glasses definitely do the trick. Good coverage and nice fit. I prefer a more streamlined pair of glasses, but my wife loves them. I haven't worn them enough to experience how well the photochromic technology works.
