Most Helpful 5-Star Review
Reviewed by R. Mayer from South Carolina on Tuesday, April 30, 2013I normally only buy polarized glasses, but you can't use those when flying an airplane. Since most cockpit gauges have polarized lenses, wearing polarized glasses will negate and black out the gauges--not a great thing when piloting. However, these glasses are not polarized and they have a relatively flat shank, so they fit nicely under my headset. They also fit nicely inside my motorcycle helmet. The lenses do a great job of changing their shading intensity. I don't even notice them. What I do notice is that I just never seem to have to squint; they just seem to have the right tint for the ambient lighting. The lens color also helps with the contrast.
The only caution I have is that when they arrived in the mail inside of their protective case, both of the lenses were out of the frame. I had to pop them back in. They went in so easily--almost too easily-- that I'm handling the glasses very gingerly, afraid that they might pop back out while cruising down the highway on the bike. I've had them for about 2 weeks and the lenses have stayed put.
The wrap-around-lens style also helps protect my eyes from the wind on the motorcycle. I love being able to wear the same glasses no matter what the lighting is throughout the day.
