This bag won bag of the year from Backpackers magazine and I see why. I purchased this for a 3 week trip to Europe. The size is great and I appreciate how streamlined the design is with just the right amount of exterior pockets. The straps are very adjustable to find the right fit and level of comfort. I can't wait to come up with more reasons to use this bag!

The perfect size for short camping trips or long backpacking trips. I was able to fit all my stuff for a 2 month European backpacking trip with the total weight being 30lbs. The committee is awesome and belt pockets are super handy. By fat the best backpack I've bought.

I bought this pack in an effort to lighten my load. I had an old Gregory Forester which weighs almost 5 lbs, it was a great pack, it still is, but it is time for me to jump in the light to "ultralight" backpacking bandwagon. The Boreas Lost Coast 60 may not be ultralight but it is light enough (not stupid light), I have used it on a couple of backpacking trips and I have to say I am extremely happy with the way it handles my load (20 to 23 lbs including food and water). It is very comfortable, not just because of the reduced weight but because of the way the pack was designed, the load of my gear, food and water were properly handled by the Boreas. I also like that the internal frame is removable if you want to go ultralight, I have yet to try loading without the internal frame just to see how the pack performs. Overall, the Boreas Lost Coast 60 is a very functional pack, lightweight, comfortable, great ventilation on the back, it has sufficient storage, "minimalist" design, well constructed, materials seems durable and tough. I have no doubt this pack will serve me well on my planned JMT hike next year.
